With the current fuel sources diminishing, we are looking for alternative ways to power our automobiles.

According to definition for an alternative fuel from the Department of Energy, alternative fuels are mostly non-petroleum and give better energy security and environmental benefits. A current list of as alternative fuels:

  • Biodiesel
  • Electric Power
  • Ethanol
  • Hydrogen
  • Methanol
  • Natural Gas (CNG/LNG)
  • Propane (LPG)
  • Solar Power
    		• Honda Insight

    The Department of Energy expands the list as new fuels are developed.
